Time For The Chicks Who Lead The Way ~ Janis and Grace
It is too hard to choose between all the great female Rock voices we have been blessed to hear, from Stevie Nicks to Ann Wilson to Pat Benatar, to Tina. Then we must recall Chaka Khan, Melissa Etheridge, Alanis Morissette , Annie Lenox, and Bonnie Raitt ~ the list is endless.
But who were the chick’s who stormed the path for the ladies we love to listen to these days? Who made it impossible to discount female rockers? Well, there are two voices that to me can never be forgotten for leading the way in female vocals: Janis Joplin and Grace Slick.
So here are my two picks for todays post, Janis Joplin ~ Piece of My Heart and Grace Slick of Jefferson Airplane performing White Rabbit – from Woodstock.
