I have been sitting here watching the coverage of the doings between the Big Bad Russians and the Country of Georgia, and while I am Russian by descent I in no way condone what the Russian Government is doing in Georgia. I have a new contact on my Twitter that is blogging out of Georgia and its heart breaking to read what is going on there.
So my choices for today are my way of saying to the people of Georgia I am with you in spirit.
While these songs are not an exact fit when I was listening to my MP3′s when they came up in the queue I knew I had to post them.
I did some searching tonight and have come across a few lists that are not very current, however over at DigitalDreamDoor.nutsie.com their list of the 100 Best Solos places Comfortably Numb in the number one spot , with Stairway To Heaven at #2 ( the horror of it all!). They place Crazy Train at #25 ( what??!!) FreeBird at #4… check the list out.
Here are the numbers 1 and my Husbands fav for number one – No More Tears, what do you think?
and the number one solo from the list – Pink Floyd’s Comfortably Numb~
I will go down with my ship and say never ever will any damn solo be better than Stairway to Heaven, but that is just me being cranky and loyal.
Okay, after talking with some one who is on the radio, it seems that Jimmy Page said he would choose Steely
Dan’s “Reelin in the Years” featuring Elliot Randall, is his favorite guitar solo of all time, so lets check out all three and see what happens?
What do you think???? and thank you to Tim Jeffreys of kfox 98.5 for the input
I love to peruse Flickr for photos of home, this one is so nice. Makes me miss home so much I can almost feel the sun setting on my face now.
Okay now for my picks from the play list at KFOX tonight…….. and an honest question for you all:
Who rocks harder, AC/DC or Black Sabbath?
Leave your choice here, or if you have another choice slam it down here
I was lucky enough to have been at the Back in Black Tour, at the Cow Palace wayyyyyyy back when
(1980), and to this day I can remember each moment of that show. It was the very first rock concert I was at, and my Dad had given me the money for the tickets and a reprieve from my curfew — had the entire night to myself. My friend Christine and I went in her moms 442 ( beautiful car too) all the way to San Francisco, beer in hand. Well, we get to the gates and no booze inside. So brainyacks that we were, we took the beer back to the car which was parked on the street, and locked it in the truck.
Went inside and had a total blast. Well, when we got out to the car, guess what we found? Yep, missing windshield, missing side door windows, lol. The kids that had been watching us put the beer in the car, tried to get into that car and when they could not gain access, they smashed the s%$# of her moms car! We drove all the way back to Sunnyvale with no windshield on the 101… what a ride that was, what a night!
Wow, my choices tonight for my KFOX pics were too varied! Narrowed it down to these two tho any of what was on the play list Tim Jeffreys had tonight would have been awesome to have here. You know the deal, I have kid in a candy store syndrome.
Synchronicity is the experience of two or more events which occur in a meaningful manner, but which are causally unrelated.
The concept does not question, or compete with, the notion of causality. Instead, it maintains that just as events may be grouped by cause, they may also be grouped by their meaning. DEEP. In order to be ‘synchronistic’, the events must be related to one another temporally in a way to rule out direct causation.
Did anyone get to go to the Police Tour this year? There will be a DVD Set released in October so watch for that all you Police Fans.
Okay gang, Santana is playing now and I am signing off for the night, going to chill with Shes Not There. Enjoy the vidoes, and remember to leave word for anything special that you think should be here. And remember to check out KFOX.com for some awesome classic rock on your pc!
First time I heard Life In The Fast Lane all those many moons ago, the song did not mean much to me. Sad to say it sure as hell fire does now. No, not sad. All those speed bumps I hit along the way have shaped me into who I am today, and I am all right if I do say so myself.
Long Cool Woman , well…. a classic never gets old does it? It just gets nice glossy sheen on it.
So, here are my picks today from Laurie Robert’s show on KFOX:
And if you have any picks that should be placed here in the video posts I make, leave a note and I will get them up!And don’t forget to check out KFOX on the web, for all the best classic music!
