Hi Mel,

sorry for the total lapse in response, as I never got the info you had posted. I am thrilled to hear from folks who have been involved in KOME! If you are open to sharing your stories, I would love to interview you for the blog!

My first radio internship was at KOME in the summer of '89 where I met Dave and his wife Pam. Dave is such a showman and has the best stories! Pam became one of my good friends and is ths sweetest person. I was only there for 3 months during the summer, but those days had such an impact on me. The beach boardwalk broadcasts were a blast!

Thanks for that great and revealing interview with Dave Wohlman. I remember listening to his Sunday morning Time Machine with great enthusiasm..Dave would play tunes that had not seen the light of day in ages....how refreshing.....wish we had more programs of this sort on the air today. One show that really stands out in my memory was his Christmas show from December of 1993...when he played some obscure sounds of the season, including a great song, now the title escapes me, but it was a jazzy number by an artist named Tony Rodelle-Larson....as well as some rare gems...outtakes of the Three Stooges during a recording session of their Christmas record from 1958.....wow!
Good to read this interview...wish you all the best, Dave!

Hi Bob!

Holy Cow, what a treat to have you come comment here. Thanks so much for dropping by, now I know I can try to locate you for an interview some time!! :-)I am sure I am not the only person who would love to know what you and everyone else has been up to.
As far as I am concerned the state of Rock Radio in the Bay Area is sad, there is KFOX for Classic Rock but that is just not the same thing in my eyes. I was so heart broken when I initially found out about the station being silenced the way it was, and now after having battled CBS over Jericho and learning what I have about ratings and executive power I wanted to see what I could do to resurrect the station in some manner.
Again, thank you so much for dropping by, you just made my day!

Rock On!

HI,
What great memories that interview with Dave Wohlman brought back! It was an honor to be a part of all of that. What a shame it all had to end just so that Howard Stern could have a Bay Area outlet.
Bay Area radio is a mere shadow of its former self. The listeners are still there and so is the interest. Too bad the industry is more into being safe and cheap.
Keep up the good work. Finding your site was a real treat. Just reinforces the fact that it could all be done again.
Have a great day.
