Where are you Jeff Blazy?

Posted by 15 comments

Edit – October 18 2010

You can find Blazy and Bob hanging out rocking the tunes @ 99.7 KIOO, the graphic on the right sidebar is clickable and leads right to them :)

I noticed quite a few readers coming here using the search terms Jeff Blazey gets fired and the like, so I went over the the 101.7 website only to see he was not listed in the on air section. I emailed asking how to contact Jeff ( I had wanted to get an interview with him after doing Bob’s anyway) we will see what I learn folks.
I will post what I hear but I have a feeling he left, and was not fired. He was too great a talent on air at that station for firing. I do not listen to the station on air or the net, but if it was due to ‘restructuring’ of the stations playlist … well their loss.
I have a few other things of note to post today, be back in a bit :-)

So did you ever get anywhere on this? I keep wondering what happened to him. He was such an entertaining presence on the radio (though No commnents on how is in person). I’d love to know what happened.

Folks: I emailed Ben-Fong Torres, ace radio reporter at the Chronicle, and inquired “where
goeth Jeff?” Hopefully Ben will enliven us all
in his radio column in Sfgate.com. Stay tuned.

    Hello Howard
Many thanks for emailing Mr Torres, but we now have located Mr Blazy and he was kind enough to have done an interview with me, which is listed in the front page and the blog roll! I sure do hope that Mr Torres will do a piece on Jeff and his future doings though, as his fans really miss him a ton and it would be great to see a piece in the paper.

thanks for the comment and visit!!
    :-)

Upon noticing the same thing (no morning show, no blazey), I phoned the station to find out what happend and was informed that “due to the economy, his contract was not renewed”. I COMPLETELY agree that it will be the stations loss!! My interest in listening certainly dropped a few notches!! I’m sure he’ll get picked up somewhere.

Hey guys, I e-mailed scott less and he said the same thing about the economy being the reason. They will lose about 50% of their morning fan base because jeff is gone, hell I stopped listening. Jeff was the main reason the station got so much money. It seems like the biggest station draw is gone. And I don’t want to bash on Big John Synder, but the guy is no Jeff Blazy! I envy the city that gets Jeff Blazy as their DJ. The guy won 6 consecutive years in a row the best radio personality in Sonoma County I believe. The guy is great!

Oh well, i could ramble for quite a while. anyway, RIP Blazy Show on the Fox

Listened to the Fox since the beginning. Usually had the radio on before the AM show. Got very used to Blazy, though tee’d me off now and then. Just moved out of state, but still dial in and was surprised he was gone. Please don’t let the FOX go the way of KSJO.!!!!!!
