I love Southern Cross, it is one of Crosby Stills Nash finest songs. I find few bands I can sing with ( sing being a relative term for me, lol ) but I do love singing with CSN. I was planning to post something filled with awesome memories, but instead what I will say simply is this, take care to keep your memories close to your heart. I have fine memories of music, and thank god that I will never ever forget each song and what it means to me. Who I was with when I first heard the music and what I felt deep in my soul.
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to totally change how you look? I mean in an almost instant kind of way. Some days I feel like that is something I could never do, other days I wonder if I had the courage would I do it and the answer is yes!
Some people were born with awesome genetic stock and many others really do not have a care about their appearance compared to other people. Some people just do not feel comfortable in their own skin, as if they were meant to look different and they know it.
I think I fall into that last catagory, I think in my heart I know I was supposed to look different. I am not big on the whole makeup scene, I used to be in my 20’s and 30’s. Now it is not so much my face as it is the whole package. I feel too tall ( which as of yet, no one can fix) and I feel to big. My mom always says I was like a football player with my shoulders being too wide when I was born, and that is how I feel. Large, not fat but just too large.
I have come to grips with some parts of my look that are just who I am but there are many small things I would work on and lately have considered Cosmetic surgery as a future option.
And while MYA breast surgery is not what I am thinking of ( as God was more than generous in that area, lol) I know there are many ladies who feel that this is something they need to do. Some women need a reduction, others a slight ‘pick me up’ so to speak.
If you are in the UK and thinking of having this surgery, I read at MYA Cosmetic Surgery site that breast enlargment, reductions and even uplifts are done and they have a great deal of information for you to read and make an informed decision. You can even call a phone number for consultations and more detailed information. Not every place has this available which tells me they really care about getting the best information to the customer. If someone tells you that you do not need to be well informed before a surgical procedure of any kind they do not have your best interests at heart.
They even have a contest going for you to possibly win a bit off the cost of a procedure which will help because then you get to spend that money on some new clothes to show off that new you. So if you are thinking about this, take the next step and read up at MYA to see if this would be right for you. But make sure what ever you do, you do it for you and no one else!
So I took the plunge, I entered into the Sonoma Dream Home Giveaway from HGTV today. Have you seen this house, it is amazing. I think it might be a tiny bit much for me to take in if I do win it. Love the idea of planting trees to help the environment? I do
If you were to see the various types of trees in my front yard you would think I was tree crazy! Redwoods ( three and counting ) Wisteria ( take that you invasive plant people LOL ) Eastern White Pine, White Bark Birch and more grace my yard. I have been personally responsible for each tree in my yard except two Maples and a Pine in my drive.
Well, if you are a crafter who makes handmade giftsand you want to list your items for sale but do not want to pay that E place 15 % for doing it, and you want a place that displays your items in their best light try Artfire.com. If you join for free you can list up to 10 items at one time for free! Yes, I said free. No fees for pictures, inserting the items on the site or final fees from sales. If your a power seller there is a premium account you can get for a small fee of $20.00 a month that has a ton of extras.
And if you join Artfire.com you will be joining a company that has become a partner to Trees for the Future and they are going to plant a tree for every single free member who joins! They have a goal of planting over 1 million trees during the first two years!
I use Artfire, joined it this month as a matter of fact and so far I am really happy with all I get with my free account. Should I become a power seller, the premium account will be my next step but the real draw for me is the idea that a company can also be a partner in our future and help to save our planet. Small steps to a great future.
First of all, want to say that Rock and Roll Classic’s Blog has a widget now for you to use and share that contains the radio station Rock and Roll Classics @ Live 365 which you can now grab right from my sidebar!
And also from the blog Chili choose one of the stand out bands of the 70’s to talk to us about ~ Bread. I used to love listening to Hooked on You when I was a kid. This was the band that along with others woke my musical soul up! I practically lived with a radio on all day long and long into the night, most times falling asleep to the sounds.
I think I would love to be able to do that again.
And from 70’s Classic Rock Blog I am going fixin to get Southern on ya’ll ~
Art’s Wordless Wednesday choice was a awesome Song from an Awesome band - Free Bird From Lynyrd Skynyrd. I bet anyone who cruised El Camino Real in the late 70’s through the early 80’s recalls the green van with Free bird on the side! I can not recall who owned that, if you are the owner and read this, give me a yell would you … would love to see a photo of the van as well. Great times cruising, so many awesome cars. My son’s would give their eye teeth to see all those classics rolling up and down in front of the Taco Bell on El C amino.
Oh, if you are frail of mind due to memories of home , do not go to Google Maps to see the old homestead! You can go and at least in Santa Clara CA, you can do the street view thing………….. bad move on my part. OMG what did they do to home? Its all discombobulated!!! I am going to need a freaking guide when I get back home just to find stuff.
Anyway, good times back then and I am told progress is good ( sigh).
My choice for today’s video placement is YES – Roundabout. I miss just chilling out on a Sunday afternoon listening to KOME while my Dad worked in the front room. Those days were good good days for me.
Have a good one peeps, I will be back later. I have some photographs of the American Bald Eagles that nest at the Lake I live near to get put up on my flickr account.
