This chick can bang the drum something fierce

Okay, not too many videos on the Utube get my attention lately ( unless its Virtual Zeppelin or maybe if I am in a mood a Jericho Video) but this lady is something else! Can you imagine being 91 and drumming like this? Can you imagine being 91? I can’t, hell I can’t see myself doing what Jerri does at my age!

In the video are some awesome photographs of Jerri Thill throughout her life, these got my attention as well as her awesome drumming because I totally love doing genealogy work – History rocks!
I know your going to love this video as much as I and many others have, its really awesome to see such joy on a persons face especially in these times we are going through.

Please take a moment to go watch this video on her website as well :-) we must support rockers no matter what age they are, music is our one last surviving joyous moment.

If you want to know more about Jerri Thill then please go to Allee Willis and have some fun! By the way, Allee Willis wrote the Friends Tune as well as songs for the Pointer Sisters back in the 80′s , she is quiet the accomplished song writer so if your into some interesting reading about someone new you will love this.

James Taylor to Headline Benefit Concert For Musicians On Call @ Hard Rock Cafe NY ~ Feb 24th

Many thanks to 70′s Classic Rock blog for this awesome and worthy organisation.

Musicians On Call ~

a non profit that formed in 1999 to bring live and recorded music to the bedsides of folks who reside in Healthcare facilities. They use music to promote and complement the healing process for the patient and also the families and caregivers.

The org was founded by Michael Solomon and Vivek Tiwary during their volunteer work with the Kristen Ann Carr Fund at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
To read more about this organisation please go to this page…http://www.musiciansoncall.org/?id=10609&sid=10594
When I am feeling unwell music always helps, no matter what my mood I can always get a benefit from the tunes I play on my MP3 player.
I use what you call New Age ( I call ambient ) music to bring my heart rate down and help me get my bearings again when I am stressed. I can actually feel the heart slow and my emotions calm.

I also know that music has been shown in some research to provide real benefits to the patients including pain management from cancer and other intense illnesses.

The list of supporters for this intensely awesome org is stuffed full of the biggest and best, from People Mag and Hard Rock Cafe to Entertainment EW.com, RCA Music and Disney Cast Community Fund. The list is extensive and can be accessed here.

A post that contains Photographs is more appealing to your readers

Are you like me, always searching for a great photograph to place in your post? They say that a good photo is what makes a reader stick around and read your posts and come back for more. Have you been using Flickr? Flickr rocks and some of the most awesome talented photographers hold accounts on Flickr, however I do not always find a free to use photo that fits my topics.

I am now trying this new service to find free pictures. I did a fast search for San Jose and came up with nothing, then I tried a search for California and came up with 75 percent correct photos. The last search test I did was for beach, and this term came up with photos that were orgininal to me and free to use. I have spent that last two years finding groups and photos of CA at Flickr and saving them as favorites SO I know alot of the photos out there by heart.

Here is one I liked and which was free to use ~

Hard Rock Park Sold for $25 Million to FPI MB Entertainment

I did not even know there was a Hard Rock Park, but I am glad that I got the alert today about the article concerning the Park from Rollingstone Magazine.

Seems the park had been suffering some financial issues but now has been saved from Bankruptcy after being bought by FPI MB Entertainment for $25 million. That is small change in the Park arena I believe but from looking at Hard Rock Park’s Website one can see this is one hell of a nice park to go hang out at.

Of course what grabbed my attention in Rollingstone’s piece was the mention of a Led Zeppelin Roller Coaster, who would have thought?

You can check out the park and all it’s attractions via this map page on the website for Hard Rock Park. They have a ton of sections in the park to check out, each looks really entertaining. The main page states they will be opening in 2009, so folks who live near Mrytle Beach South Carolina can check out the website for firm opening dates.

There is also information on the website about local hotels, things to keep the kids contained and happy and of course ticket prices which the site states will be posted soon. I know my kids would love to check this out, as would I. I need a vacation some where that is not only fun but near a beach!

What I found interesting was that this was NOT in California, that state just seems so natural for Rock Music for me; guess I am getting old.
