It’s Spring ~ we ladies need our fragrances in any form.

One of the best and most fun jobs I had was as a Cosmetic Department Lead at a very well known store. I loved my job, loved it. I would come in two hours early and leave three hours late. I loved working with the biggest and best cosmetic companies , I got the latest in fashion and felt that one day this would be my career.

To this day I love and adore the best of colours in make-up and the most glorious of scents, like Rive Guache by Ives St. Laurent. Oh man, that is my signature scent. And now, spoiled as I am, I have to have scents of the highest order in my home. I have loved the candles but they do not always have the continuous scent I need, so now I am exploring the reed diffuser oil which leaves a cleaner and longer scent.

You can find diffusers in many stores but they are not always the best , I have found that Sabon is the leader in diffusers as well face products and such. I love these places, but I have to admit that Sabon seems to hit the mark all the way around. My friend told me about the Day Serum and how it works wonders for her, that is all I need to hear. And for the price, its as easy to purchase as those products at the well known chains stores.
And I was thrilled to find out they have Patchouli , my all time favorite scent to have around the house! They have oils and body scrub as well! What a great time when we can locate business that really cares about scents, the scents that are classic and true, not those you find at the local drug store. I am a purest I suppose.

SuperTramp ~ Breakfast In America

It’s 1979 … where were you?

I was just arriving in California after a few years of living in Iran, talk about culture shock.

My Dad had gotten a job in Sunnyvale doing something techy-geeky who knows… and I felt I had hit the jackpot. Why did I feel that way. cuz besides living in Iran for a few years I was a resident of Long Island NY. Now, please do not regal me of the wonders of Long Island. But for a scant few wonderful experiences, I could not get out of that place fast enough.

So, I land with my Dad in San Francisco airport on a beautiful sunny afternoon, and I remember thinking, how could any place be so awesome? We had sun in Iran, lots of sun and I liked if fine there, but California sun is so different than anywhere else in the world.

The music that played on the radio at that time has stuck in my memory banks, Eagles, Kiss, and Supertramp.

So last night on the way back from the store my husband throws in what CD? SuperTramp‘s Breakfast in America and it brought back all those wonderful memories, like when my Dad and I got home from airport and he had no dinner so I , awful cook that I am said I will cook steaks. Can you say shoeleather? And yet my wonderful Dad ate it all, God love him.

Okay, what is the best off Breakfast? Well unless you were born in another universe, you know about the radio fav;s – The Logical Song, Goodbye Stranger, Breakfast In America. But do you remember one of my loves … Lord Is It Mine?

Listen and really think…..

I know that there’s a reason why I need to be alone
I need to find a silent place that I can call my own
Is it mine, lord is it mine?

When everythings dark and nothing seems right,
Theres nothing to win and theres no need to fight

I never cease to wonder at the cruelty of this land
But it seems a time of sadness is a time to understand
Is it mine, lord is it mine?

When everythings dark and nothing seems right,
You dont have to win and theres no need to fight

If only I could find a way
To feel your sweetness through the day
The love that shines around me could be mine.
So give us an answer, wont you,
We know what we have to do,
There must be a thousand voices trying to get through.
