SXSW ~ 4 days of Rocking Good Fun in Austin

How does spending time in a gorgeous city with the ability to listen to 33 bands per hour sound? Well if you are in Austin Texas then you will get to do just that.

1900 bands will be playing at this years SXSW at 88 different venues around the city. Music loves can check out the bands from noon to 2 am each day.

Also of note is the different panel discussions being help at the convention center. Topics range from making a green album to Innovations in Digital Music.

Sadly the economy has really been affecting who shows ( the major labels are down on their usual spending and attendance ) but the Indie labels are doing about normal.

As Mike Jawkorski who runs Seattles Mt.Fuji Records states in a article in the Seattle Times, this year seems to be less corporate. Less corporate in my humble but loud opinion is good but I can see where loss of sponsorships may hinder some of the parties.
Twitter, the social app used by many now as a social meet and greet was unofficially let lose on the world at the 2006 SXSW, which is when I joined. Also of interest is the fact that beyond the tunes is a film festival.

So if your there ( and you probably are, almost everyone is *sigh* except me ) have a great time and enjoy all you can.
