Thank you Soldiers and JR4OT Friends

Today is the day we all spend time remembering and giving thanks to the men and women past and present who serve our great country. Veterans Day is so very important to my family and friends because it is when we all take the time to reflect on the sacrifices great and small that are made on our behalf each and every day by our brave men and women in uniform.

Normally, I would be either blogging this on my troops blog or spending time talking to my friends who work with the Organization Jericho Rangers 4 Our Troops along with this old gal. Sadly, time will not be spent today with my friends, as we are each facing some private issues , real life sometimes comes first. But I know each of my friends who worked so hard on all the Charity Events for JR4OT as well as other work done as an organization are remembering each and every time they helped make this world a better place. So, while I am thanking my troops for all they sacrifice and do for each person in the USA, I am adding my friends who served on JR4OT as well. You all are true servicemen and women, thank you for all you have done.

I am so proud to know you and work along side you.

Les Paul ~ Lover of Music Gone but never to be forgotten

It is perhaps the worst saying but tonight I can think of no better way to say it, we lost a true Musical Genius, a star amoung stars, a friend to so many generations of musicians and music fans alike. Lester William Polsfuss was born at the time of great changes in our society, the year 1915. By age 9 he was playing guitar and by age 13 professionally with Country bands. He went on to be band leader in the 30′s and 40′s , backing up some of the greats in music from Dinah Shore and Bing Crosby to the Andrew Sisters. His musical legacy will rock through the ages never to be forgotten and so truly hard to write about and do justice.

Anyone who has ever dreamed of playing the guitar, as well as those who have been rocking the fans for decades all owe Les Paul a debt of gratitude for the twang of the notes we love so much.

A much better write up is over at MTV.com which I will link to here. I am just sad that I am not half the rock historian I should be and I am thankful for all the years I listened to any rock band because Les Paul helped them come into our lives in a huge way.

Rock on Les Paul and thank you!

As of today ( standing up ) I am a Farmville and Farmtown addict. Is this what FB is for? No, probably not… but damn I love the games.
It is really nice to be able to connect to your friends and family as well the odd groups that cover things from your past, such as KOME or old school groups.

Music news…..
Can you imagine still be able to take going to a KISS concert ( this is for the over 45 crowd ) could you take the noise? Is it still worth it to even pay for tickets? Well according to Gene Simmons , this new album is the best they have done in 30 years and the last studio album in 11 years.

I am disappointed that Ace and Peter Kriss are not with the band anymore ( yes…. I am out of it, been doing the Mommy thing for a while ya know ) I had the biggest crush on both Peter and Ace way back when and think they were a big big park of the bands success.
Here is Peter’s Official Web ~ http://www.petercriss.net/homepage/ and one of the bigger Facebook pages ~
and here is Ace’s Official Web ~ http://www.acefrehley.com/
I just don’t know if I can believe they still have what it takes, people age and so do their voices but I am sure willing to wait and give them a listen.

and now for some of my favorite KISS tunes ~

I was made for loving you ( yes, I truly adore this tune LOL )

Time to head out to Branson for a sweet vacation

I have across the U.S. a few times in the last 10 years, and each time my favorite way to come back east was to go through Missouri. I loved to see Springfield, its rich history and importance to the United States still to this day fascinates me.If you ever come east from California, I highly suggest you take Highway 44, its a beautiful ride. When you cross into Missouri from Okalhoma it seems like coming to a new world. Trees, and mountains abound.

The one place I most wish to visit on my next trip through Missouri is Branson. My biggest reason is to see a Victory Campaign with the Copeland Ministries. I have wished to go for the last 5 years running. However that is not the only reason I wish to get to Missouri and take some time vacationing there, there are so many more things to see and do from fishing and boating to shopping and shows, Branson has it all. I want to spend a few days at Lake Taneycomo and check out the Riverboat. One of my favorite stories has always been Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer. I also want to visit Silver Dollar City with my kids, they love amusement parks and roller coasters.

I really want to make reservations at the Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing. The rooms look amazing and I am sure that a vacation spent at the Hilton Promenade will be one my family will remember for many years to come. Right now they are running some great package deals such as the Hilton Visa Summer Savings which gives you an additional 25% off the best room rates when you book and pay for your stay with a visa card. I would love to stay at the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel as well because they have beautiful kind sized rooms that have a balcony. The list of amenities at both of these hotels are amazing, from audio and visual equipment rental and a business center to fitness areas for swimming, and even fishing. My boys would love to spend an entire month hanging out on their lakes just fishing.

Vintage Tour Jackets Blog

Imagine you are back in 1978 at the Rolling Stones Some Girls Tour, you are having a total blast. The food is great, the people are great, and of course the music is awesome. You probably tripped around the stadium and even tried to get back stage, we all did that right? If you were lucky enough to have gotten close to the back stage area you may remember seeing the roadies in their Rolling Stones tour jackets. Well, I have been introduced to a blog that has photographs of some of the best in Rock and Roll from the Classic rock years, as well as television show jackets and alot of great history and chit chat. The blog Vintage Tour Jackets is owned by a guy named Dave who used to live in San Jose and is now located in LA. He does Press Photography the lucky dude. Check his blog out but make sure you have lots of time because he has some awesome stuff there to read and see.

And in the spirit of the jacket being mentioned, here is a vid of the Stones al la 1978 Some Girls Tour ~
