What video from the 80′s do you think was the best ever?

You remember that movie where Micheal Keaton made multiples of himself in order to get his day rolling without losing his mind? Well, I need a machine that will do that for me, as I truly suck at multitasking :-( guess its the age thing again. I am sorry I have been absent from here for a while, there are some things going on such as an illness in my family that I am dealing with as well as my getting my Sons of Anarchy Blog back up again but I missed writing here honestly I did so here I am.

I saw a interesting line of convo over at the KOME facebook page and it made me think that it would be the perfect way to bring back the convo here, and so that is my thought for this blog post today ~

From the 80′s ONLY ( my input to this question )
What video do you think was the all time most ground breaking in any way? You can place your thoughts here, no registration is needed. I really love the idea of being able to have readers place their ideas and views here, it was everyone’s station after all :-p

The KOME FB placed Sledgehammer as the best video of the time ~

And I agree, very artistic and fresh for the time and one of my fav songs from Mr G, but what I want to know is what video do you think is the most innovative?

What is Song Tagging and HD Radio?

You know when you are driving and a song comes on the radio that you remember loving? The trick for me when that happens is to hope to remember the song when I get home so I can look it up and find where I can get it on line. Neat trick for someone my age, trust me. I have kids so I am legally brain dead.

Well there is a way now to ‘tag’ that song so you can go to iTunes later on and buy it, no memory required. At HDRadio.com which is a Digital Radio Service not a Satellite service. You simply go to a dealer and pick up the HD Radioâ„¢ receiver. This receiver has the ability to let you listen to your local stations in CD quality sound. When a song comes on that you love, simply tag it and go to iTunes to purchase, simple as pie.

The Jensen JiMS 525i Receiver is really nice, the features list is extensive and the price is really good. It has duel alarms, 30 presets and its a nice looking set. I love that this receiver will fit most any decor and fit nicely just about anywhere from the Bookcase to the shelf unit.

The quality of music you hear on HD is amazing. I listen to KUFX from the San Jose area on my computer and they offer a streaming HD channel, which is really great. You can find your available local radio stations that provide HD streams, for instance the station I mentioned listening to, KUFX is listed on this list.

I like the idea ofsong tagging, like every other service I use via the Internet the applications I use most are the applications that provide ease of use to me, and HD song tagging and the crystal clear sound they provide gives me this. I suggest you check this out, you will be glad you did.

For the Love of God… where is Uncle Bob with that damn Time Machine?

I just spend a most pleasurable two hours listening to some spectacular music…… have to say I am speechless.
So I thought I would share a few of the tunes I listened to with you, via good old YouTube. Not the same versions mind you, but the feelings are there. To set the mood, it is raining here. Not the mind numbing rains Kentucky normally can see, rather a gentle hush of rain. The kind of rain that makes you feel safe.

A guitar in the hands of its lover is something to behold, Steve Vai is a master. I could spend the rest of my days simply listening to the great guitarists we have been so fortunate to have in our lives and never get bored. Page, Vai, Montrose, Satriani, I could go on. And I probably will here soon :-) As far as I am concerned, we do not need singing, just let loose with the tunes on guitar.

Guitar music is a thing for me, can ya tell?

Steve Vai ~ For The Love of God

For my kids who are HUGE FF fans….. Rain King by Counting Crows:

Ronnie Montrose ~ Town Without Pity :

Please, as always go and support each artist listed here, for they gave us the joy of great music.
You can subscribe to Steve Vai’s YouTube Channel here.….
And the Steve Vai Official Home Page here.

Here is Ronnie’s Homepage *linked to my favorite album period from Montrose*

And here is the Counting Crows Home Page

And Finally, here is Satriani’s Home Page ( check out the video I just wanna rock, the cutest robot is in it) Album sounds slammin!

To my friend who turned me onto some beautiful music, thank you so much.

Jeff Blazy Interview Update

edit ~ 12/11/2008 :
Interview with Jeff Blazy is posted here!

Okay, I was a bit hesitant to place this here but since SOOOO many of you are coming seeking information about what happened with Jeff B, I did get a hold of him and I asked him for an interview ( which I was going to do after the Interview with Bob Lilley) and he told me to get back to him after the first of the year.

So, as far as this blog is concerned…. we will at least be able to talk with him soon. If you have any questions you would like to have asked just leave word here on the blog and I will try to get them into my interview if and when I am able to do it.

Can’t wait until the New Year!!!!

Also leave a comment as the more of us who are fans of KOME come together to remember the greatest Rock Station in the States ever we will keep the memories alive.
KOME and Dennis were so important to so many events in my life growing up in the Santa Clara Valley, not one important moment of my life is not in some way associated to a song or routine I heard on the station.

And please , after viewing this video go to the KOME website run by Ted Kopulos , click on the Update on Dennis page, and leave word for Dennis. Let him know how much he meant to you, the memories you have of his wild times on the air.

I’m Learning to Fly & Synchronicity II ~Sweet Sounds For A Friday Night

Wow, my choices tonight for my KFOX pics were too varied! Narrowed it down to these two tho any of what was on the play list Tim Jeffreys had tonight would have been awesome to have here. You know the deal, I have kid in a candy store syndrome.

Tom Petty’s Learning to Fly ~

and The Police Synchronicity II ~

I looked up synchronicity and here is what the wiki says :

Synchronicity is the experience of two or more events which occur in a meaningful manner, but which are causally unrelated.
The concept does not question, or compete with, the notion of causality. Instead, it maintains that just as events may be grouped by cause, they may also be grouped by their meaning.

DEEP.
In order to be ‘synchronistic’, the events must be related to one another temporally in a way to rule out direct causation.

Did anyone get to go to the Police Tour this year? There will be a DVD Set released in October so watch for that all you Police Fans.

Okay gang, Santana is playing now and I am signing off for the night, going to chill with Shes Not There. Enjoy the vidoes, and remember to leave word for anything special that you think should be here. And remember to check out KFOX.com for some awesome classic rock on your pc!
